HOTEL VIA MILANO

Because of its location and shape, the building condenses within itself the main characteristics of Turin's soul: a historic city, also endowed with a rich industrial heritage, which over the years has been able to renew itself through tourism, work, research and contemporary art. The new project is based on a deep analysis of the building and the context in which it is located. Thus, the idea from which the intervention originates is to emphasize the separation already present in the beginning, creating a hotel that can enclose the two souls of the city. The building that has been abandoned for more than two decades will be transformed into a luxury hotel with 107 rooms, including standard, superior, junior suites and suites. The design of the project will involve significant intervention while maintaining the original structure. The facade will undergo a conservative restyling, with the intention of removing the stone cladding and leaving exposed concrete, painted red-orange to blend in with the surroundings. In addition, the porch area will be incorporated to expand the lounge area and create a connection to the underground parking lots. A distinctive aspect of the project is the elevated terrace, covered with greenery and creepers, which will provide an outdoor space in a dense urban context. The hotel has been designed not to look like a classic hotel: the reception desk has been placed at the end of a path that runs through common areas, such as the restaurant and bar, to give more emphasis to social spaces.
